Dress Aloud privacy policy

The short version

Your photo stays on your device. When you start a try-on, the photo and the garment picture are sent to our server and on to Google's Gemini API to make the try-on picture and the description, and are not kept afterwards. We never sell data and we show no advertising.

What the app and the Chrome extension handle

• Your full-body photo, height, weight and measurements. Stored only in your browser or phone (IndexedDB inside the app or extension). We do not upload them for storage. They leave your device only inside a try-on request, to make the picture and the honest assessment for that request.
• The store page you are on. Only when you start a try-on, the extension sends the page you are on (its address and content) to dressaloud.com so it can read the product name, picture, fabric, sizes and size chart. Nothing about the pages you browse is sent while you are simply browsing; the "this looks like clothing" announcement is made locally on your device.
• Your access code. Used to count try-ons. We store the code, how many try-ons it has used, and, for purchases, the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers so you can manage your plan. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
• Try-on results. The picture, description and assessment are saved in your browser's history inside the app, on your device, so you can hear them again. You can delete them at any time.

Who we share data with

• Google (Gemini API) makes the try-on picture and the spoken description. Under Google's paid API terms, prompts and images are not used to train Google's models.
• Stripe processes payments and subscriptions.
• Amazon and other stores: buy links may carry our affiliate tag; the store sees only that you followed a link.

We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or for anything unrelated to making the try-on work.

Retention

Photos and page content in a try-on request are processed and discarded; they are not written to our disks. Access-code records are kept while the code is in use and for 12 months afterwards for accounting. Server logs without photos are kept for up to 30 days.

Your choices

• Delete your photo, measurements and history from the app at any time; uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored.
• Email mike@dressaloud.com to have an access code and its records deleted.

Children

Dress Aloud is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. See also the terms of service.
